The ROGEAP project improves access to sustainable off-grid electricity in 19 Western and Central African countries by promoting modern standalone solar technology and facilitating a coordinated regional strategy. It provides USD 140 million in loans to households, businesses, and energy service companies, enhances national renewable energy targets, and trains at least 730 certified solar PV installers. The project also empowers women-led companies and SMEs through entrepreneurship and business training, grants, and tailored financial products, strengthening both the supply and demand sides of the solar industry ecosystem.
