Diagnosis of the agroecological transition and development of the national strategy on agroecology in Mali
Developing Mali’s National Agroecology Strategy
To address the absence of a national agroecology strategy, Mali’s Ministry of Agriculture, with GIZ’s Support Program for the Local Irrigation Subsector (PASSIP) program, is developing a comprehensive agroecological transition strategy. The project’s first phase is a diagnostic study of agroecology in Mali, followed by drafting the national strategy and conducting a Strategic Environmental Assessment. Key activities include stakeholder workshops, in-depth analysis, creation of a roadmap, and validation of strategy documents. The process ensures alignment with national policies and involves regional consultations. Ultimately, the project aims to support sustainable agriculture in Mali by providing a validated, actionable strategy and ensuring environmental and stakeholder considerations are integrated.
