Sustainable Employment through Agribusiness Project
Strengthening Ghana’s Agribusiness Sector
The Sustainable Employment through Agribusiness (AgriBiz) project in Ghana, financed by the Gesellschaft für international Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) aims to boost productive employment in agribusiness MSMEs, supporting 500 businesses - including 175 women-owned - to increase profits and create 1,250 jobs. In northwestern Ghana, 5,000 producers and 30 MSMEs are assisted to expand market supply. The project helps 700 MSMEs, including 300 women-owned, improve competitiveness by reducing losses and enhancing quality. Activities include training in business development, finance, and supply chains, piloting technical solutions, and promoting sustainability. Market expansion, organic production, and irrigation adoption are also supported, aiming to build a more efficient and sustainable agribusiness sector.
