The project enhances agricultural competitiveness in Laos by providing direct financial and technical support to agribusinesses, particularly family-owned MSMEs, through a matching grant scheme and smallholder financing. It strengthens the Laotian financial sector’s capacity in agricultural lending, reducing risk aversion and improving access to affordable credit for agribusinesses. Additionally, the project promotes climate-friendly investments and technologies, modernizing value chains, increasing competitiveness, and benefiting smallholder farmers while contributing to environmentally sustainable practices.
