Handover of IT and Survey Equipment to Support Systematic Land Registration in Laos
As part of our Land Management Project Laos (LMPL), a backstopping mission was recently conducted in collaboration with the KfW review mission. During this mission, IT and survey equipment were officially handed over to the active districts in Xiengkhuang and Houaphan. The new equipment will help accelerate the systematic land registration and titling process in these regions.
The overarching objective of the LMPL is to contribute to effective and efficient land utilization for the benefit of all citizens and the environment. This is achieved by supporting the Government of Lao PDR in accelerating Systematic Land Registration (SLR) of eligible residential areas and agricultural lands in Xiengkhuang, Houaphan, Oudomxay, and Sayaboury.
The provision of this equipment, along with additional training, is an important step towards further strengthening the capacity of local authorities. This will help ensure a smoother and faster land registration process, ultimately leading to more secure land tenure for citizens.
