Stories of Impact in Global Citizenship Education

The publication of the first project newsletter from the Development Education and Awareness Raising (DEAR) Support Team (DST) brings together inspiring stories of change, innovation, and action.

At GOPA, we are pleased to support the EU’s DEAR (Development Education and Awareness Raising) Programme, funded by DG INTPA, in strengthening Europe’s global citizenship education ecosystem. DEAR helps people understand global issues, think critically and take action. Through the DST, we support, connect and amplify DEAR projects across the EU by convening practitioners, curating learning and fostering collaboration across Member States.

The DST has recently published their first newsletter. Inside the first issue, you will find a number of stories of change and of hope, from projects funded by the DEAR Programme. These stores provide inspiration for the work of civil society and youth all around the EU, such as:

  • The GET project, which is helping Bulgarian schools to rethink how climate change is taught in the classroom
  • Sustainable Food Policy in Action, where young people are looking at sustainable urban food policies in Italian schools
  • YOU(th) CARE for CHANGE, where young people in Hungary are helping their community to rehabilitate bus stops to create safe community spaces

Explore the newsletter here and learn how these projects are turning ideas into action.
