Expert 3: Prevention of Gender-Based Violence (with national experience)

Regions Initiative – Promoting the economic and health participation of particularly vulnerable refugees and migrants, as well as host communities in Colombia.
What you will do

• Conduct an analysis of the needs of particularly vulnerable population groups. 
• Implement capacity-building measures for local organizations and government institutions, with a special focus on the prevention of gender-based violence, gender-specific risks, and needs-based approaches. 
• Raise awareness and strengthen the capacities of civil society organizations and state actors at the local and national levels to adapt programs, as well as protection protocols and referral pathways, to the needs of target groups and provide corresponding services. 
• Adapt existing prevention programs or develop new ones with a focus on particularly vulnerable groups, integrating topics such as self-protection, violence prevention, mental health, and rights. 
• Provide technical advice to governmental and non-governmental partners to strengthen safe spaces and protection centers that serve as venues for prevention measures. 
• Be responsible for setting up and implementing the monitoring system, in collaboration with other experts. 
• Support the officer in charge of the assignment in updating/adapting the project strategy and in evaluations.

Your qualifications

• University degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent) in Gender Studies, Psychology (with a social or community focus), Sociology, Political Science, Law, or Anthropology with a focus on social development. 
• Spanish language proficiency at C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). 
• At least 7 years of professional experience in the psychosocial support sector. 
• At least 5 years of professional experience working with migrants and marginalized populations (e.g., victims, displaced persons, women, ethnic groups, vulnerable civil society groups). 
• At least 3 years of experience supporting interventions aimed at ending gender-based violence and sexual harassment. 
• At least 3 years of professional experience in Valle del Cauca. 
• At least 3 years of experience in development cooperation projects.
