National Solid Waste Management Expert
The key responsibilities of this role include -

Provide technical support on solid waste management matters relevant to the project;

Support the planning and implementation of waste management systems and infrastructure within protected areas;

Participate in stakeholder consultations, meetings and workshops;

Conduct site visits and field assessments as required;
-
Contribute to the preparation and review of technical reports, studies and project deliverables;

Liaise with government institutions, project stakeholders and service providers;
-
Support project monitoring and implementation activities; and
-
Provide technical advice and guidance to the project team.
The requirements and skillset include -

Relevant qualification in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Waste Management or a related field;

Demonstrated professional experience in solid waste management;

Experience in integrated solid waste management planning and implementation;
-
Knowledge of waste collection systems, waste minimisation, recycling and resource recovery initiatives;
-
Experience working with government institutions, municipalities, donor-funded projects or protected area management programmes;
-
Strong report writing, analytical and communication skills;
-
Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills;
-
Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities;
-
Valid driver's licence; and
-
Must be based in Windhoek and available to work from the project office.
