Mechanical Engineer – Thermal Design / Thermoflex Specialist

The GOPA Tech UAE office is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with specialised experience in PV thermal storage and strong proficiency in Thermoflex modelling for a PV plant project. The role requires strong technical expertise in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and thermal design, and is particularly suited to professionals with experience in thermal systems across the power, oil and gas, or process industries.
What you will do
The role is particularly suited to engineers with experience in thermal process equipment such as heat exchangers, heaters, burners, or Heat Recovery Steam Generators, and with the ability to carry out detailed thermal design and performance calculations.
The following experience would be relevant:
- Experience in PPSD / Thermoflex for thermal design and modelling of power systems.
- Strong background in thermal design, heat transfer, and system performance analysis.
- Experience in the design and analysis of heat exchangers, shell-and-tube systems, heaters, or steam-related systems.
- Ability to perform detailed engineering calculations, including thermal performance assessment.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid flow, and thermal properties
- Experience related to thermal power plant design, operation, or maintenance.
- Ability to support the thermal and mechanical design aspects of PV thermal storage applications.
- Practical experience with thermal process units, including thermal transfer systems, burners, or exchangers.
Your qualifications
The following qualifications would be relevant:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–5 years or more of professional experience in thermal design, including systems such as boilers, heaters, exchangers, or similar thermal equipment.
- Proven knowledge of Thermoflex / PPSD modelling for thermal system applications.
- Strong technical understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
- Experience in plant engineering, particularly in thermal or process-based environments, would be an advantage.
