Hydropower remains the world’s largest source of renewable electricity, providing over 60% of all renewable power generation and playing an essential role in grid stability and storage through pumped hydropower solutions.

Looking ahead, global development is shifting toward small hydro, run-of-river, and pumped storage systems, particularly in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, to enhance flexibility as solar and wind penetration increases.

In Hydropower, Tech’s expertise in renewable energy also includes small hydropower plants. We have undertaken significant studies such as the feasibility study of pump storage in Africa.

This experience forms the basis for further capability development in hydropower and pumped storage, supporting future project identification, assessment, and implementation.
