Hybrid Systems, Mini-grids, and Rural Electrification
Hybrid renewable energy systems are increasingly adopted to enhance reliability, flexibility, and cost efficiency by combining multiple generation and storage technologies, particularly in remote, islanded, and grid-constrained environments.
GOPA Tech has garnered significant experience in the implementation of hybrid renewable energy systems, providing professional engineering services from site selection and feasibility studies to system design, tendering, and supervision.
Projects involve a combination of technologies, including solar photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) configurations, such as the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) for a solar PV + BESS system installation at an offshore facility in the UAE, as well as the design and supervision of a solar PV generation plant and BESS in Tanzania. Additional examples include PV–diesel hybrid plants and solar–battery–diesel mini-grids.
Through its hybrid systems portfolio, GOPA Tech supports the integration of renewable energy at scale while advancing reliable rural electrification and decentralized power access, enabling resilient energy solutions that reduce fuel dependency, strengthen local infrastructure, and contribute to inclusive and sustainable development outcomes.
