Promoting decentralised electrification

The project addresses Pakistan's significant power deficit, particularly in rural areas, by promoting decentralized electrification through off-grid solar home systems (SHS). It aims to enable the Pakistan Microfinance Investment Company and MFIs to provide sustainable SHS financing, increase demand for solar products, ensure compliance with KfW procedures, adopt quality standards, and establish robust program implementation systems. Additionally, the project supports vendors in supplying high-quality solar products, conducts market and technical knowledge building, develops training materials, monitors loan processes, sets quality standards, raises demand, and ensures effective reporting and disbursement procedures.
