German-Colombian Project for Agroecology

The German-Colombian Project for Agroecology, financed by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity (BMLEH), promotes sustainable farming in Colombia by disseminating agroecological practices that blend local knowledge with scientific research. The project aims to improve smallholder farmers’ socio-economic conditions, strengthen climate resilience, and protect biodiversity. It works closely with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR), experts, and local organizations, supporting participatory research, demonstration projects, and policy development. The project’s participatory approach empowers farmers and has already identified priority regions and innovative agroecological solutions.
