Gabon is developing a national energy-efficiency strategy and investment roadmap that can guide coordinated action across policy, institutions and priority measures.
Government institutions can use the strategy to coordinate responsibilities, direct resources and sequence efficiency investments more effectively. A clearer national framework can also give service providers and financing partners better visibility of Gabon’s priorities. The challenge
Gabon needs a coordinated national strategy, clear priorities and an actionable investment roadmap to reduce energy use and support its climate commitments. Fragmented measures cannot deliver the same value as a shared evidence base that shows where savings are possible, who is responsible and which investments should come first.
Our goal
Gabon is establishing a practical national framework for reducing energy use and advancing its climate commitments. Beyond setting a national direction, it is intended to identify where action is most valuable, clarify institutional responsibilities and establish an investment sequence that public decision-makers can use.
Our approach
The existing regulatory and institutional framework is reviewed to understand both constraints and opportunities. A national energy audit provides evidence on consumption and saving potential, while international benchmarking offers relevant points of comparison. These findings are brought together to identify priority investments and translate strategic ambition into an actionable roadmap.
