Flagship project
EU-LINK - RAWABET II - EU Support to the Securitisation of the Ceasefire Area in Libya
The intervention aims at reinforcing stability, rule of law, and institutional reunification of security and military institutions in and around the ceasefire area, supporting strategic cooperation and operational integration of Eastern and Western security institutions in Libya.
Building upon the success of EULINK, this second phase has further enhanced police presence on the Coastal Road, while maximising opportunities to support the deployment of integrated Military cooperation and operations in the ceasefire area. The project contributes to the effective implementation of the ceasefire agreement, as agreed through the UNSC resolution 2570 (2021). It helps foster national unity and stability by nurturing synergies and linkages between police and military at strategic and operational levels in the central region, reinforcing the overall reunification process of both institutions.
GOPA continues to build enhanced operational and organizational capacities for the Security Arrangement Committee and Joint Military Arrangements, contributes to strengthening the South border management capacities and anti-smuggling operations and provides organizational support for the unification of Libyan security institutions through practical cooperation mechanisms and the reorganization of forces from the East and the West through integrated structures and processes.
