EU Technical Assistance on CBRN Risks Mitigation in Lebanon
The project aimed at strengthening the resilience of Lebanon's security institutions to withstand internal and external pressures and shocks, and to reinforce stability and national cohesion, the rule of law and continuous progress towards alignment to international legal frameworks, principles and standards.
GOPA supported the Lebanese government to be better prepared to deal with and respond to emergencies and crises, especially to CBRN incidents. Our teams supported the general operational coordination and the procurement of equipment; the development of guidelines and training for first responders of the civil defence, of firefighters, of internal security forces and medical first aiders of the Red Cross; the improvement of technical capabilities of the Lebanese Armed Forces in implementing CBRN prevention and response tasks; and the inter-agency CBRN prevention and response capabilities and collaboration.
