As part of an ongoing monitoring & evaluation assignment for GIZ, GOPA Pro is implementing an adoption study for the 𝗚𝗜𝗭 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶-𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 (𝗔𝗕𝗙). A major milestone has been reached: enumerator trainings have been successfully completed across all eight partner countries.
The trainings took place in Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Cameroon, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Zambia between June and July, preparing country teams for high-quality data collection across different agricultural value chains, including maize, cocoa, cattle, sheep, and goat production.
The assignment is led by Bartholomeow Aobe, together with Ronald Kouago, GOPA’s M&E expert based in Ghana. With the support of 𝗛𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗟𝘁𝗱, a regional data collection company based in Uganda and part of the Afrobarometer network, country teams of enumerators and supervisors were taken through the study tools, digital data collection procedures, focus group discussion methods, and field protocols.
Beyond technical preparation, the field missions helped build a shared understanding of the study approach across countries and created space to address context-specific field realities before data collection. The missions also strengthened GOPA’s collaboration between partners, experts and supported communities.
This milestone marks an important step in generating robust evidence on the adoption of resilience practices among farmers and agribusiness actors supported through donor interventions.
Thank you to all field teams, partners, and colleagues who contributed to making the trainings a success.
