Wind and Solar

Solar and wind energy play a central role in delivering reliable, low-carbon electricity and form the basis for scalable renewable power generation across utility-scale and decentralised systems.

Solar energy, encompassing photovoltaic (PV) and concentrated solar power (CSP) technologies, is a core activity within GOPA Tech’s Renewable Energy division. GOPA Tech provides technical and advisory services across the full solar project lifecycle, from early-stage assessments through implementation and operation.

Services cover resource assessment, plant design and planning, tendering, construction support, commissioning supervision, and operations and maintenance (O&M) technical supervision.

Key solar services include:

  • Feasibility studies

  • Front-End Engineering Design (FEED)

  • Detailed engineering design

  • Tender preparation and evaluation

  • Site supervision

GOPA Tech has contributed to large-scale and complex solar developments, including the 1,800 MWac solar photovoltaic project at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in Dubai, and has provided Renewable Energy Consultant services for Dubai EXPO 2020. Experience extends across utility-scale, rooftop, and agri-photovoltaic (agriPV) applications, with additional expertise in floating photovoltaic systems.

Wind energy forms a key component of GOPA Tech’s Renewable Energy portfolio, with experience covering multi-megawatt wind turbines, wind parks, and wind-based hybrid power systems. The Renewable Energy division manages the full wind project cycle, from early development to implementation support.

A core strength lies in wind resource evaluation, including early-stage wind mapping and comprehensive measurement campaigns. Over recent years, GOPA Tech has operated more than 34 wind measurement stations and initiated an additional 29 stations, using both conventional measurement systems and LiDAR/SODAR technologies.

GOPA Tech’s wind project portfolio includes wind resource assessments and energy yield analyses in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia, as well as feasibility studies for wind power projects in Ethiopia.
