About the job

On behalf of BMZ, KfW is currently financing a credit line known as the “Credit Line for Climate-Related Infrastructure Projects.” This facility supports the effective use of DBN financing for investments in climate-relevant infrastructure, particularly in renewable energy, water, and transport. The project aims to strengthen DBN institutionally as a strategically important partner in Namibia for the implementation of ongoing projects and future Financial Cooperation initiatives. More specifically, the credit line will enable DBN to refinance loans provided to private and public investors in Namibia, while expanding access to long-term, local-currency financing for climate-relevant infrastructure projects.

What you will do

  • Review and improve DBN’s Financial Sustainability Model, including revenue and cost modelling, ALCO pack, risk-adjusted financial planning integration, and blended finance and capital optimization strategies.
  • Support the alignment of DBN’s financial management tools with its development mandate, particularly in relation to climate-related infrastructure and long-term institutional sustainability.

Your qualifications

  • Graduate (Master or Diploma) in Business Administration, Economics or Finance.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in financial management and financial analysis.
  • Experience in sustainability modelling, Project Preparation Fund (PPF) structuring, blended finance, financial reporting, Asset and Liability Management (ALM).
  • Knowledge of corporate finance, structured finance and SME finance as well as project finance and debt-equity swap.
  • Experience in loan pricing with particular focus on risk and developmental impact differentiation.
  • Knowledge of the national (Namibian) banking system and practices.
  • Practical experience in working in a development and/or commercial bank is a must.
  • Experience in projects financed by international donors (World Bank, AfDB, EU, GIZ, EIB…), preferably by KfW Development Bank.
  • Previous experience in Southern Africa (ideally Namibia) is a must.
